Abstract

An attempt is made to analyze the effect of varied flow input/output orifice area gradient at entry/exit, on the chamber pressures of ORBIT motors. It is done by varying the inclination of axial groove on rotary flow distributor pintle valve. The constructional and functional features of the flow distributor valve are discussed in details. Next, variations in pressures at flow input/output chambers are estimated carefully considering the instantaneous orifice geometries and shapes at different shaft rotational angular positions. The patterns of the fluid flow for the entire path through flow channel to chambers are analyzed using CFD in Fluent-Ansys environment.
