Abstract

In vehicle ad-hoc networks (VANETs), the location privacy of vehicles is a major security issue. In recent years, a large amount of pseudonym-based solutions have been proposed to tackle this problem. Starting from the basic concepts of VANETs, this survey tries to summarize the traditional and novel location privacy protection schemes in VANETs covering their advantages and disadvantages. Moreover, the challenges and open problems are also discussed for the future research.
