Abstract

This paper deals with teaching materials in informatics designed for lower secondary school blind students. First, we describe our motivation to develop special teaching materials for blind students. The second chapter provides an overview of the available computing textbooks for primary and lower secondary education. In the third chapter we explain the way of using computers by the blind to justify the need for teaching materials specially designed for this category of students. Further, we offer a detailed description of the form and content of teaching materials developed by the CEB project (Computing Education for Blind). In conclusion, we describe our research aimed at the verification of suitability of the created materials.
