COMUNICAÇÃO GRÁFICA: BASES CONCEITUAIS PARA O ENTENDIMENTO DA LINGUAGEM CARTOGRÁFICA

Abstract

RESUMO: As preocupações que buscam a representação gráfica dos objetos que compõe o espaço geográfico remetem para a Cartografia Temática a função de orientar e organizar a maneira mais correta de se apresentar uma dada informação no " papel " . Um dos principais objetivos é facilitar o entendimento da mensagem para o leitor. Sob esse aspecto, o documento cartográfico adquire grande expressividade, pois, determina um conjunto de signos que traduzem uma linguagem, uma idéia e uma comunicação por meio de um sistema de símbolos, objeto de estudo da Semiologia Gráfica. Esta por sua vez, dá as diretrizes para avaliar as vantagens e os limites das chamadas variáveis visuais, empregadas no processo de representação, além de articular as regras de utilização racional da gramática da linguagem cartográfica. É nesse sentido, que o artigo em questão aborda a comunicação gráfica, enfatizando as suas bases conceituais e a importância desses conceitos para o entendimento da linguagem cartográfica. ABSTRACT: The concerns that search the representation graphical of the objects that composes the geographic space sends for the Thematic Cartography the function to guide and to organize the way most correct of if presenting one given information in the " paper " . One of the main objectives are facilitate the undestanding of the subject to the people. Under this aspect, the cartographic document acquires great expressivity, therefore, determines a set of signs that translate a language, an idea and a communication by means of a system of symbols, object of study of the Graphic Semiology. This in turn, gives the lines of direction to evaluate the advantages and the limits of the visual variables, used in the representation process, beyond articulating the rules of rational use of the grammar of the cartographic language. In this way, this paper wants to speech about the graphic communication, with enfazis oin the conceptual basis and the importance of this concepts to understand the cartographic language.
