Abstract

The paper deals with the stress/strain analysis of an artificial knee joint. Three cases, where femoral part of the knee joint part is cut across under 3, 5 and 7 degrees, are analysed. Finite element method and the nonoverlapping decomposition technique for the contact problem in elasticity are applied. Numerical experiments are presented and discussed. © Springer-Verlag 2004.
