Intentional attunement: Embodied simulation and its role in social cognition

Abstract

Psychoanalysis has always identified the body as the source of the energies feeding psychological representations. Interestingly, some recent developments in cognitive neuroscience have emphasized the role of the acting body and of sensorimotor systems in constituting the way our minds represent reality, and in particular our intersubjective reality, by shaping our cognitive schemas. © 2006 Springer-Verlag Italia.
