Abstract

Fischer: 10 years ago there were significant areas of computer usage in publishing. One was subscription fulfillment; we now have 12 computers exclusively for this function at TIME. An outgrowth of this function may cause problems. The Justice Department is studying the use and reuse of people's personal names and addresses when they were sold for one purpose or being applied in some cases to new lists for other purposes. Time will tell the outcome.
