Abstract

Information about diversity, distribution and utilization of native palms in Bolivia is provided along with basic data on production of and human impact on four palm species: Attalea phalerata (motacu), Euterpe precatoria (asal), Geonoma deversa Gatata) and Parajubaea sunkha (sunkha). Relevant management criteria are presented in the Bolivia context. Riqueza y utilizaci6n de las palmas en Bolivia: Algunos criterios esenciales para su manejo Resumen. Se presentan los datos de diversidad, distribucion y uso de las palmas de Bolivia. Se considera la informacion basica de produccion e impactos humanos entre los criterios relevantes de manejo en base a cuatro especies como estudio de caso: Attalea phalerata (motacu), Euterpe precatoria (asal), Geonoma deversa Gatata) y Parajubaea sunkha (sunkha).
