MINE in a review of the International Federation for Information Processing Working Group 8.2 (interaction of information systems and organizations) conference papers. Assumes that this would be an important forum for management information systems researchers interested in social dimensions of IS. Interested in how these researchers put their work in larger context. Identified references to works of social theory (broadly defined) and tallied papers citing them. Only 14 cited in more than 10 papers (out of 293 papers). Most cited, in order: Gideens, Habermas, Burrell and Morgan, Berger, Latour, Foucault, Geertz, Glaser, Rogers, Popper, Williamson, Callon, Gadamer, and Law.
