Abstract

(from the chapter) the purpose of this paper is to recount our experiences with a group of autistic children and adults who have been receiving a long term comprehensive treatment during the last 25 years / the program is being run at Sofieskolen, a special school for 37 autistic children between the ages of 3 to 18 / the principle aim of our program is to provide autistic persons with a life style as near to the normal as possible the social system in Denmark / diagnosis / treatment program / special education / total communication / parental collaboration / supportive psychotherapy / sports / preparing for adult life / adult program / vocation / homes / leisure (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2015 APA, all rights reserved)
