Abstract

Sampun Wonten Ket Mbiyen Lan Jumlahe Mboten Kirang Mboten Nambah: The Myth of the 'Fish of God' as a Conservation Strategy at Telaga Rambut Monte, Blitar Regency, East Java. Humans cannot be separated from nature because almost all aspects of human life are related to nature. At present, nature is no longer seen as an object of economic value, but also as part of a community group, so that humans try to care for their environment in various ways, it can be in the form of formal law, religious law, or local knowledge of the community. Likewise, the Krisik Village community uses local knowledge to preserve the environment. This research is located in Krisik Village, Blitar Regency, which has local beliefs about the God Fish which is sacred and is believed to be a magical fish with mystical powers. The magical fish is forbidden to be taken or consumed. This study uses an ethnographic method with data collection techniques of observation and in-depth interviews. The results of the study show that people still continue to live the myth of the Fish of the Gods because it has been embedded in people's lives and practiced in everyday life. The strategies carried out by residents to spread the conservation value contained in this myth are using several ways, including by socializing to tourists and through routine village clean activities that are full of conservation values. Keywords: myth; Fish God; conservation strategy; traditional ecological knowledge
