Abstract

saturated amalgams. They suggested that the heat of solution is about equal for all metals. An average value of about 23 kJimol was found empirically. On this basis, values for the solubility of Fe in Hg quoted by [5] have been critically reviewed by [9]. The findings of [5] Fig. 30 may be expressed by the following formula: Ig(at.%Fe) =-1,2001 1-2.41 (273-973K). The data reported by [7] and [8] are somewhat lower.
