The Chaetognatha of the Southern Ocean

Abstract

The Chaetognatha are a widespread almost wholly planktonic group occurring, often in large numbers, in the open ocean. They are hermaphrodite but almost certainly not self fertilising animals and exhibit relatively little anatomical variation throughout the group.
