Abstract

As a basic research aiming at the realization of a non-powered object transport system that can automatically align and separate multiple objects, this paper investigates the properties of passive motions of two identical regular octagonal objects that move on a tilted stage that vibrates up and down passively. First, the mathematical models of the octagonal object and tilted stage are derived. Second, typical passive motions of the objects are observed through numerical simulations. Furthermore, the change tendency of the phase relationship between the two objects with respect to the initial angular velocity and stage viscosity is numerically analyzed.
