The development of SME is very important in creating employment and reducing poverty. However, the intensity of business competition is very high, so competitiveness is a key strength needed for MSMEs to continue to sustain. One strategy in increasing MSME competitiveness is through increasing credit accessibility, which is aimed at increasing business revenues. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to: (i) analyze the amount of MSME revenue before and after obtaining credit; and (ii) to explore differences in MSME income before obtaining credit and after obtaining credit. Descriptive statistical analysis and t-test are used as the foundation of analysis, where production income and costs are the main aspects assessed. Based on quantitative data collection and interviews with 28 SMEs of meatball traders in Ciptomulyo Village, Malang City, the results of the study showed that before obtaining credit, the net income of the meatball trader was IDR 5,010,357, while the net income of the meatball trader after obtaining credit was IDR 10,084,679 . The increase in revenue was due to an increase in business competitiveness after the credit was granted. The SMEs (meatball traders) are able to improve the efficiency of obtaining raw materials, increase production, and be able to expand the market. All of which can be done due to optimal credit management, which is carried out on the application of reliable management, and is supported by increased empowerment activities. The results of the analysis provide important insights for the government that increasing accessibility accompanied by empowerment programs must be a focus in developing MSME development policies.
