Abstract

This paper develops an agent-based model to explain cultural diversity in organizational populations as a function of inter- and intra-firm cultural transmission. Bridging firm processes with labor market mechanisms, the model conceptualizes individual employees as ‘cultural carriers’ and provides a basis for the study of inter-organizational cultural processes.
