Protestantism

Abstract

Does suffering from a disease come from natural cause, does it imply personal guilt, or is it a token of God’s Will that has to be obeyed? These questions are at the heart of many denominations of Protestant Christian Religion. The question is also relevant to UNESCO’s declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights. Are those rights fundamental or are they subjected to Divine Law? The latter question will be discussed after a small overview of the variety of branches in Protestantism and their main developments in discussion health, disease, and death.
