Abstract

Foreign objects, mostly as a result of an iatrogenic error, may be found in the root canal. Fragments of the whole range of endodontic instruments are the most commonly found particles. Instrument fracture can occur even in experienced clinicians that follow the most appropriate preventive measures. Less frequently foreign objects within the root canal are attributed to patient's manipulations outside the dental surgery.
