Abstract

The article presents a study which determined the response of muscle protein synthesis (MPS) to differing amounts of whey protein ingested after resistance exercise performed in the post-prandial state. A bout of unilateral leg resistance exercise was performed by 30 resistance-trained males in a parallel designed study. Results showed that when exercise is performed 3h after food intake, there is a limit to the rate of post-exercise MPS following protein ingestion.
