Hemodialysis that has been given to chronic kidney failure patients caused anxiety with mild, moderate, and severe anxieties levels. This anxiety occurs in all age groups and who have job or not. Anxiety that occurs in hemodialysis patients is a condition that must be treated because it will aggravate kidney's cell damage. This research has provided a solution to reduce anxiety in hemodialysis patients by using Benson's relaxation techniques that combined with giving slow stroke back massage to the back area. This research was conducted using quaci experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test with the intervention of Benson's relaxation techniques and slow stroke back massage. Anxiety in the respondents was measured by the HARS and the results of the study were analyzed with peired t-test. Based on statistical tests, the mean of anxiety score post-test for hemodialysis patients at Aisyiyah Ponorogo Hospital showed a decrease when compared with the mean score anxiety pre-test with a significance level of 0,000. From the results of this study can be concluded that Benson's relaxation and slow stroke back massage are effective in reducing anxiety of hemodialysis patients at Aisyiyah Ponorogo Hospital.
