Abstract

Formation of water-soluble polymers by chemical modification and cross-linking reactions is reviewed. Cross-linking with functional groups and by hydrogen bonding, effects of cross-linking on the physical properties of polymers, determination of cross-linking density, and cross-linking reactions involving metal ions are discussed.
