Abstract

This chapter reviews the history and methods of comparison between Daoism and Greek philosophy. It focuses on three aspects: the comparison of explicit concepts in the two traditions, their respective epistemological methods, with specific treatment of the issues of skepticism and relativism, and how they put forward recommendations for how to live in the original Greek sense of philosophia as “love of wisdom.”
