Most duodenal diverticula are asymptomatic and should be left alone. When duodenal diverticula perforate or bleed, surgery may be required. This chapter describes the performance of transduodenal diverticulectomy. Indications, preoperative preparation, pitfalls and danger points, postoperative care, and complications are all included. Details on operative strategy and technique are given for the open operative approach.
