Fluidization experiments were made with different sized oil shale particles. Minimum fluidization velocities and other fluidization characteristics were determined at room temperature. Steady state combustion experiments were performed under controlled conditions. Thermogravimetric data were used to monitor the amount of organic matter and carbonates, providing the needed information on the degree of combustion and the amount of carbonates decomposed.
