Process Mineralogy Delivering Significant Value at Anglo Platinum Concentrator Operations

Abstract

Anglo Platinum has invested strongly in its mineralogical capability, taking advantage of the advancesin hardware in the last decade, to leverage improved metallurgical performance in an environment where oresexploited have become increasingly more difficult to obtain in terms of high platinum group mineral (PGM)extractions. This programme of investment has begun to show strong returns in better metallurgicalperformance on the group’s operating Concentrators, principally by utilizing stirred milling technology. Thisarticle describes this programme and illustrates the benefits obtained.
