Abstract

MAETIC [1] is a teaching method based on the realization of projects by the students and aims to allow them develop in parallel with know-how related to the target profession, professional skills as planning, negotiation, teamwork, communication, etc. The experiments [2] have shown that when a teacher deploys this method in his classroom, he may encounter difficulties due to the lack of expertise and experience. Then he may need help. The experiments have also shown that such aid could be provided by more experienced teachers in the use of the method. The teachers who use the MAETIC method therefore constitute a Community of Practice (CoP) whose the main objectives are: 1) the resolution of difficulties related to the use of MAETIC and 2) the exchange of practices related to this method. To Support this CoP, we interest on the design and development of an adaptive and mobile computer system that called NICOLAT (French acronym: iNformatIque COmmunautaire mobiLe et AdapTatif). Especially, NICOLAT aims to help these teachers members of The MAETIC CoP to resolve the difficulties that encounter during the use of MAETIC in classroom. © 2014 Springer International Publishing Switzerland.
