To ensure quality deliveries and obtain repeat business, textile manufacturers must be able to measure quality accurately and to promise reproducibility. The article looks at the equipment available for quality control, focusing in turn on: crocking, dimensional change and skewing; fading; pilling; yarn testing; laboratory ovens; production testing and tensile testing.
