Abstract

This chapter describes some recent advances in modeling and stability analysis for stochastic hybrid systems from the viewpoint of applications to cyber-physical systems. As an illustration, it discusses synthesizing an algorithm for robust, global, almost sure synchronization of a large number of agents evolving on a circle under all-to-all communication. The robustness includes achieving near synchronization even in the presence of adversarial perturbations. This behavior is not something that is achieved via non-stochastic, non-hybrid almost global synchronization algorithms. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2013.
