Abstract

Lifelong medical education extends medical education beyond the limitations of school education, expands the entire living and working spaces for medical workers, and meets the learners' needs for self-development and self-improvement. Online education abandons the traditional education system, gives full play to the network-based educational function and rich medical education resource advantages, provides medical workers with a kind of online teaching and learning environment, and carries out non-face-to-face learner-centered educational activities. Online education has many advantages to meet the desires of various groups of people for knowledge. © Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014.
