Abstract

This chapter addresses the policy issue of how to improve the transition from school to university of an increasing number of students in developing countries in Asia. Based on data about rising enrollments in higher education, the paper identifies ways to improve the alignment between schools and universities in a manner that will maintain an efficient balance between the quantity and quality of higher education.
