Abstract

An efficient synthesis of some new 1, 8-dioxo-decahydroacridines is achieved via one-pot, three-component condensation of aromatic aldehydes, cyclic diketone and 4-amino benzamide/4-aminophenol. Reaction of these acridines with dimethylacetylene dicarboxylate and triphenylphosphine or cyclohexylisocyanide gives stable phosphorus ylides or 4H-chromene derivatives, respectively, with good yields. © 2014 Indian Academy of Sciences.
