Abstract

In order to solve the problems of wiring complexity, high cost, poor mobility and high energy consumption, which are occurred in current medical monitoring devices. In the basis of analyzing the devices and topologies of ZigBee network, a novel wireless medical monitoring network is designed based on ZigBee technology in this paper. The wireless network nodes are constructed by CC2530 ZigBee modules and the wireless medical monitoring network is formed by way of Ad Hoc network based on ZigBee. The hardware platforms and software of the network nodes are designed. The body's pulse signal is monitored in time by the monitoring network and the implementation results indicate that the novel wireless healthcare monitoring network has the advantages of low power consumption, low cost, good instantaneity and strong expandability. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.
