Balance is the ability to maintain body balance when placed in various positions. The elderly experience a lot of decline and physical, psychological, social changes that are interconnected with each other so that they have the potential to cause physical and mental health problems in the elderly, one of which is balance disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of physical and cognitive activity on the balance of the elderly. This type of research used quantitative methods with analytical descriptive design. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling with a total sample of 103 people. Collecting data using a questionnaire consisting of: Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Physical Activity Scale for the Elderly (PASE), Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). The results of the statistical test of physical activity obtained p = 0.033 (p <0.05. Cognitive statistical test results obtained p = 0.014 (p <0.05), it was concluded that there was a significant relationship between cognitive and elderly balance. Suggestions for the elderly is this research as information that can be used in preventing and anticipating risk factors that can cause balance disorders in the elderly.
