Abstract

High speed rails services are the most dynamically developing branch of collective transport in Europe. The development of the already existing high speed rail network and the integration of the national systems so that they create strong trans-European network is one of the priorities for European Union transport policy. The realization of this goal depends on implementing modern telematics tools which play dominating role not only in the process of technical harmonization of the trans-European high speed rail network, but also in the process of services integration, thus the integration of the seat booking and ticket sale systems, or the passenger information system. In the article there have been presented the examples of telematics tools used in the integration process of high speed rail in Europe; there have also been presented the directions for telematics development in this segment of passenger transport.
