Abstract

This, the 1993 Louisa Burns Memorial Lecture, looks at some of the fundamental questions osteopathic researchers must address within the bounds of biomedical and bioengineering study. And, it is a call for the schools of osteopathic medicine to analyze by scientifically measurable data the physical conditions that the patients present, the osteopathic manipulative measures used to correct them, and the results of such measures.
