Abstract

Garbage classification has become a hot topic in the field of environmental development. In this paper, a scientometric analysis of 727 academic publications between 1990 and 2019 related to garbage classification is presented by identifying and visualizing the evolution of the country collaboration network and emerging trends based on CiteSpace. The results show that the most productive countries are China, the US, Germany, France and Italy. In this paper, we identify the pressing topics of garbage classification research, which include waste management, behavior, collection, generation, recycling, household waste. The paper also compares and analyzes the practice in garbage classification of China, the US and Germany, which show differences according to their nation situations. The study will help to better understand global trends and directions in this filed and to help further explore.
