Densities were measured in dilute aqueous solutions of the ionic liquid 1-Butyl-3-methyl imidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonate in the temperature range of 283.15 to 318.15 K, using a vibrating tube densimeter DMA 5000. Apparent molar volumes were correlated with volumetric ion interaction model of Pitzer and the Redlich-Meyer model. The Redlich Meyer parameter is negative and increases with temperature, which could indicate an increase of the ionic liquid electrostatic interactions. Finally, the parameters of the Pitzer equation were determined using the volumetric properties, obtaining good results for the apparent molar volumes.
