Abstract

In recent years, Attention is focused on the technique of O2/CO2 combustion with the particular advantages in environment. In this study, the characteristics of MSW with higher moisture, higher ash, lower LHV combustion in the O2/CO2 atmosphere were investigated. By means of numerical simulations (CFD), optimizations for the existing incinerator were carried out for fitting to the MSW combustion in O2/CO2atmosphere. The result showed that when O2 concentration is 28v% in oxygen enriched MSW combustion, the temperature over the bed top arrived and even exceeded the combustion temperature in air atmosphere. With the same height of furnace and area of grates, the outlet gas temperature changed from 1046K to 1094K by remodeling the furnace to increase cubage; It testified that the amended furnace have more advantages in MSW combustion in O2/CO2 atmosphere.
