Abstract

The global trend of reducing energy intensity and improving energy efficiency (EE) of the economy and reveals the connection of this process with the global competition of countries described below. Presents the status of state EE policy as a priority component of economic policy of the different governments and governing bodies of their unions. Given the comparative analysis of dynamics of indicators of economy of the Russian Federation and other countries. Convincingly the key role of technological energy saving in reducing energy consumption and improving EE in the economy. The necessity of the institutional, including legal, to ensure the participation of the Russian Federation in various forms of international collaboration is rejustified.
