Abstract

A review. This paper is a review of crystn. and the process and techniques of monitoring the process for industrial scale. A discussion of soly. and supersatn. with a look at the metastable zone width of the supersatd. soln. before crystal nucleation and growth is considered. A discussion of sensor technologies that can be used to monitor crystn. are attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, focused beam reflectance measurement, calorimetry, and image anal. Adipic acid was used as a model for crystn. and the technique that is used was batch cooling crystn. Depending on conditions of crystn. this can impact purity and crystal morphol. and polymorphism of the final product. [on SciFinder(R)]
