Abstract

Fabrication of dye-doped mesostructured silica distributed feedback (DFB) lasers by soft lithography is discussed. The lasers exhibited multimode lasing with a moderately low threshold of 55 kW/cm2 and emission linewidths with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 0.3 nm. The soft lithography employs a low-cost molding or stamping method to produce first-order grating on photoresists by patterning that does not require etching or metal depositions.
