Abstract

The adjustment of the fluoride content of our water supplies has been under discussion for many years. Despite the fact that it has been recommended by the World Health Organisation, advocated by successive governments for over 20 years, and supported by the Scottish Home and Health Department and every reputable body of public health throughout the world, progress in Scotland towards its implementation has been disappointing.
