A computable measure of the entanglement for bipartite mixed states, the negativity (ρ), was developed and proved not to increase under LOCC. Although it lacks a direct physical interpretation, it was shown that it bounds two relevant quantities characterizing the entanglement of mixed states: the channel capacity and the distillable entanglement EDε.
