Abstract

Epidemiological data and geographical distribution of prostate cancer are summarized. Prostate cancer is becoming an increasing health concern even in Hungary. The number of such patients is growing because of using new diagnostic and screening methods. Despite the increasing incidence of prostate cancer in Hungary and throughout the World, the raise of mortality rate is not expected to grow basically, because the new therapeutic modalities could offer much better survival.
