Abstract

This paper provides an overview of an experimental mobile augmented reality system that combines the municipal public transport navigation capabilities with augmented reality visualization on a mobile device. The system is able to provide directions to tram and bus stops and monitors user journey in real time using geolocation data and schedule information. The system described herein has been implemented in a prototype form, that has been tested in a real case usage scenario in an urban environment. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
