Abstract

Dissecting web documents for appropriate relevance from the World Wide Web is a tedious task due to the growth in the sheer size of the web these days. Generic search engines are designed to give results which satisfy a range of end users thus creating some irrelevance for a searcher to find a specific set of information. This paper describes a vertical search engine which efficiently and precisely finds freelancing work opportunities for IT entrepreneurs. It processes the IT related work documents which are collected from various job sites, forums, classifieds and social sites. The contribution of this work lies in designing an algorithm to find topic specific hub-pages using content and link structure analysis which further enhances the search effectiveness. It is also optimized to crawl a large set of data and find relevant and recent web pages in minimum time on a daily basis, thus reducing the processing cost, time and resources.
