Abstract

This paper presents an approach to new method for music composition with multi-agent system, which is a field of new research and offers vast possibilities for both scientific research and artistic expression. Proposed model is an ecological approach in which the agents coexist in a virtual world displaying predator/prey behavior. It realizes self-organization of sound structure and realtime performance with laptop PC. The demo movies, including all reference movies in section 3 are available on the Web (http://www.dubdb. com/gismo/evo/). Please refer to them for agents' behaviors and sounds. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.
