Abstract

Attractions are indispensable for the tourism industry, and museums, as cultural attractions, play a particularly significant role in tourism destinations. The use of communication technologies to visit and explore museums is certainly crucial for increasing visitor attention and helping them improve their museum experience. Due to the rapid development of these technologies, the expectations of tourists have changed, and museums have ceased to exist as product-centered institutions, instead becoming customer-focused in their approaches. This switch has led museums to seek new ways to attract visitors and create interactive experiences. Gamification is a very innovative technology that aims to capture user attention by offering enjoyable and interactive experiences. This chapter attempts to explore the use of gamification as a tool to enhance the attractiveness of museums from the perspective of visitors. We discuss the implementation of gamification in the context of museums' attraction after clarifying what attraction in tourism is as well as the concept of gamification.
