Colonization, with its religious and political aspects, which supported the practice of having economic and political control through established colonies, is considered by many hıstorians as one of the reasons behind the delayed industrialization of sub-Saharan Africa. In fact, because of this, the region faces a lack of economic opportunity, unemployment, a brain drain, and migration of young people seeking good jobs and better lives elsewhere, namely in Europe. Therefore, for these young people, illegal migration has become the solution to overcome the difficulties they are facing. Unfortunately, illegal migration or migration itself for some European leaders is considered as a threat for their nations. The phenomenon of illegal migration for some western leaders is regarded as one of the biggest challenges of the twenty-first century because migrants in many European countries are seen as invaders of their land and job takers from nationals; some dislike migrants for security reasons, while other countries only help migrants for humanitarian reasons. For the African continent, illegal migratıon leading to a loss of many young African lives in the Mediterranean Sea is a human catastrophe. Meanwhile, a number of thinkers and decision makers have come up with and published in several reports some suggested solutions, including restraining the flow of migrants and therefore the risks of travel and the number of deaths as well as the loss of money.
