Abstract

Major Function Region (MFR) was supposed in the summary of the 11th Five-Year Plan, that land can be spatially divided into four kinds of main function regions, including optimal development region, important development region, restrictive development region, and prohibited development region, by the reference of regional environment and resource carrying capacity, exploitation intensity and developing potential. This article provides a general scheme of The Major Function Oriented Zoning which can be integrated in the Decision Support System in order to increase the rationality and efficiency of Major Function Oriented Zoning. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
